George
Lipimile |
|
George Lipimile
established the Competition Authority in Zambia,
and is currently the Executive Director of Zambia
Competition Commission. He has been instrumental
in development and implementation of competition
laws and policies in member countries of COMESA
and SADC, and continues to assist UNCTAD and WTO
in their technical assistance programmes aimed
at establishing Competition Authorities in various
developing and least developed countries. Being
a legal expert in Intellectual Property Law and
Corporate Law, he continues to advise the Government
on matters pertaining to International Trade Law
and Investment. He received his Bachelor of Arts
Degree (BA) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from
the University of Zambia, and his Master of Science
in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary and
Westfield College, London. |

A renowned columnist,
Gesner Oliveira is a Professor of Economics at
Getulio Vargas Foundation, Sao Palo, Brazil. He
has served as a consultant for various government
and international orgainsations on competition
policy and regulation. Besides, he is also the
member to a host of institutional boards dealing
with competition and regulatory matters. He holds
a PhD in Economics from the University of California,
USA. |

Paul
Cook |
|
Paul Cook is the
Centre Director, Centre on Regulation and Competition,
University of Manchester, UK and is the distinguished
professor of Economics and Development. He has
work experience with more than 16 countries and
has written many books and published many papers.
He is among the leading international experts
working in the area of public enterprise reform
and privatisation, regulation and competition,
and economic policy issues in the transitional
economies. |

Philippe
Brusick is Head of UNCTAD’s Competition and Consumer
Policies Branch and in this capacity has been
in charge of the annual Intergovernmental Groups
of Experts on Competition Law and Policy. A Swiss
national, he is conversant with several languages.
He holds an advanced economics degree from Geneva
University and is in the process of completing
a PhD. |
