Grassroots Interface Meetings (GIMs) are going to be conducted in two phases. The agenda of the meetings will be to reach out to the stakeholders such as farmers, commercial users, distribution companies, etc at the grassroots level and make them aware of the role they need to play in regulatory reforms in the electricity sector and to transfer key advocacy skills to them.

In the first phase, information will be disseminated to relevant stakeholders on the present scenario and efforts would be made to register their problems, needs and challenges. In the second phase of these grassroots meetings, possible solutions to their problems would be discussed in the presence of local legislators.

The first phase of the GIMs will be conducted during the period November to December 2008 in all the respective project territories: Bangladesh, Nepal and India (Rajasthan and West Bengal).
