CUTS International organised an international competition conference held on 14th – 15th February 2008 in Gaborone (Botswana) to mark the culmination of the project entitled, “Capacity Building on Competition Policy in Select Countries of Eastern and Southern Africa” (7Up3 Project). Ministry of Trade and Industry (Botswana) and Botswana Council for Non-Government Organisations (BOCONGO) jointly organised this conference  with CUTS with support from the Department for International Development (U.K.) and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norway).

In addition to drawing project partners and other stakeholders from the seven project countries, this conference offered an opportunity for competition scholars and practitioners from the continent and outside to engage in the discourse on the road ahead for evolving effective competition regimes in sub-Saharan Africa.
