Algeria Submits Price Controls Law

Algeria's
government has submitted to the Parliament a draft law that will
allow it to set price controls on all consumer goods and services
as part of a campaign to curb inflation. The planned price
controls are the latest in a series of measures increasing the
state's role in energy exporter Algeria's economy, where sharp

Intel seeks settlement in FTC antitrust suit

Intel Corp. is
seeking to suspend trial proceedings in an antitrust suit filed
against it by the US Federal Trade Commission, in order to
negotiate a settlement. The FTC sued the semiconductor giant in
December 2009, alleging "anti-competitive tactics" that have
stifled innovation. Intel has filed a joint motion with the FTC
that would open a window, "during which time the parties will
